The City of Bryant’s Parks Department is developing a Master Plan that will serve as a working strategic plan to further develop and maintain existing and proposed parks improvements. To assist the City, MCE is providing the following tasks: researching inventory analysis, community engagement, document development, and probable cost/budget analysis.

Researching Inventory Analysis

Included working closely with the Department and a stakeholder committee to gather and analyze existing park infrastructure and proposed park projects to understand the community’s needs and the Department’s goals. The proposed parks are being prioritized within this master plan, based on the input and feedback from the Department staff, the steering committee, and community engagement.

Community Engagement

MCE worked with the Department to develop a community engagement strategy that included the following: attending and reporting on progress at selected stakeholder meetings, assisting with survey documents for gathering public input, assisting with public outreach efforts, and leading community engagement/public design charette style meetings at parks around the City.

Document Development

Involved preparing planning documents to prepare for a final deliverable that will include a master plan overview, community engagement data collection and analysis, existing park inventory, planning studies of existing parks infrastructure, planning studies of proposed parks, comprehensive plan coordination, proposed park improvements, and conclusions/action plans/implementation plans.

Probable Cost/Budget Analysis

Includes creating likely construction costs for all proposed park improvements and creating a five-, 10-, 15-, and 20-year planning cost document to help the City budget for said improvements. This task also involves reviewing sales tax revenue, grant opportunities, along with funding reports and schedules.
