Wildwood Daffodil Plaza
Little Rock, AR
This project consisted of the design of a pedestrian plaza shaped like a daffodil with landscaping at Wildwood Park for the Arts in Little Rock, Arkansas.
McClelland designed this facility with aesthetics being the top priority. The pedestrian plaza shaped as a daffodil consists of alternating paver colors and patterns for differentiation of each petal. The sidewalks connecting the main plaza to the road and subsequent secondary seating areas are stamped concrete with integral color and are ADA compliant. The site is fully irrigated to support the impactful landscaping design, and the pavers and integral concrete finishes are sealed to increase the durability and longevity of this design. This plaza was constructed as a memorial to the mother of one of the park’s donors whose favorite flower was a daffodil.
Design for this project began in March 2022, and construction began in March 2024 and was completed in August 2024. The final cost of the project was $212,400.
