City of Benton Master Plan

The City of Benton’s Parks Department is developing a Parks Master Plan that will serve as a working strategic plan to further develop and maintain existing and proposed parks improvements. To assist the City in this endeavor, MCE has provided the following tasks: researching, inventory analysis, community engagement, and document development. 

Researching Inventory Analysis

Included working closely with the Department and a stakeholder committee to gather/analyze existing park infrastructure and the proposed 2040 Vision Park projects to understand the community’s needs and the Department’s goals. The proposed parks have been prioritized within this master plan based on the input and feedback from the Department, steering committee, and community engagement.

Community Engagement

Involved working with the Department on a community engagement strategy that included: attending/reporting on progress at selected stakeholder meetings, assisting with survey documents for gathering public input, assisting with public outreach efforts, and leading community engagement/public design charette style meetings at parks around the City.

Document Development

Involved preparing planning documents for a final deliverable to include a 2040 Vision overview, community engagement data collection/analysis, existing park inventory, planning studies, operational review/financial analysis, comprehensive plan coordination, proposed improvements, a final master plan document, and conclusions/action plans/implementation plans.
