Land Development Project Designer| Fayetteville

McClelland Consulting Engineers is looking for a full-time Project Designer to join our Land Development team in Fayetteville, AR. This job operates in a professional engineering office. Project Designer (PD) designs or assists in the design of construction projects dealing with Land Development projects such as, site design for new buildings, recreational facilities, trails, drainage, and other site related projects. A Project Designer must also have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the fields of civil engineering and landscape architecture.


Essential Functions:

• Develop construction documents for site development projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Construction documents sets include site plan, grading and drainage, utility, erosion control, plan sheets and applicable details

• Coordinate with the project team to develop and complete projects on time and on budget

• Complete plan review comments from internal quality control process and from the city review process

• Assist the Project Engineer and Landscape Architects, and Project Managers in completing technical specifications

• Prepare written communications, applications, and reports

• Review and implement municipal zoning ordinances, geotechnical reports, as well as state and federal codes to ensure project compliance

• Work in partnership with Project Managers and staff to identify opportunities and constraints for development sites, assist in municipal meetings and submittals, and complete plan revisions as needed to obtain project approval

• Preparing for, attending and leading meetings with internal and external clients

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8 am to 5 pm and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Required Education & Experience

• Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering or Landscape Architecture

• Internship in Civil Engineering or Landscape Architecture preferred

• 5 years of experience preferred

• Work Authorization/Security Clearance

• Must be eligible to work in the United States
